The American Dental Education Association (ADEA) is seeking to add an experienced Marketing and Communications Manager to our team of high-performing professionals.
In this position, you will be responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of strategic marketing plans for ADEA membership recruitment and retention as well as events, products and services. This position requires superior internal client service and the ability to produce high-quality marketing and communications in a deadline-driven environment. You will develop communications for a wide variety of internal clients and be responsible for effectively conveying ADEA’s messages to members, prospective members and the general public. You will tailor messaging and visual elements in accordance with ADEA brand standards to be shared throughout a variety of communications mediums. You will report to the Director of Marketing and Communications. This position does not supervise any direct reports.
Assists with the development, implementation and measurement of membership and event marketing and communications plans, ensuring alignment with ADEA’s strategic goals.
Manages production processes from copy and design through approvals and scheduling for direct mail, email, print, online advertising and other marketing collateral.
Contributes content to ADEA’s member newsletter, the ADEA Bulletin of Dental Education (BDE).
Represents the Association at ADEA and industry events to educate existing and prospective members about benefits and services.
Suggests and helps implement innovative strategies for member recruitment, retention, engagement and growth in event attendance.
Works with membership staff to enhance renewal, welcome kit, member acknowledgement and engagement and other member touchpoints.
Updates existing content and generates new content for the membership pages of the ADEA website.
Provides reports and metrics to help analyze effectiveness of membership and event marketing efforts; suggests and implements improved strategies.
Generates social media content and schedules posts to support membership marketing and event marketing plans.
Other duties as assigned.
Baccalaureate degree in marketing, communications, journalism or a related field.
Five years of marketing and communications experience with variety of media required (e.g., newsletters, web content, marketing, etc.).
Five years of marketing experience at an association, health care or higher education organization, strongly preferred.
Five years of membership or conference marketing experience, strongly preferred.
Strong project management skills and the ability to produce quality written communications in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated initiative, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and the people skills to cultivate relationships.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and social media platforms.
Experience with content management, email marketing and association management systems.
Experience with website analytics and social media posting, monitoring and reporting tools.
