The National Recreation and Park Association is actively recruiting for an experienced Marketing/Communications Project Manager for our Individual Funding and Partnerships divisions.
This role is a critical player on the marketing and communications team. This person will be responsible for working with our public relations team on national media campaigns and project planning, as well as implementing communications and marketing projects, with our marketing and communications team. This position will spearhead initiatives to increase the prominence of the organization’s individual funding and partnerships divisions and will share responsibility for the overall development, growth and brand of each of these rapidly growing departments. Ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, self-directed individual who is also a creative thinker with excellent writing skills. Candidate should be accomplished at managing marketing, branding/PR and communication projects. This candidate must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment, as well as be open to a constant flow of ideas through brainstorming and team collaboration.

Salary: $60,000 - $65,000 range. Requirements: Successful candidate will have a combination of education and experience equivalent to a four year degree in journalism, communications, marketing, political science or related field, as well as 6 - 9 years demonstrating knowledge of and interactions with work in public relations. Must have a solid grasp of the big picture and the how and the why of funding campaigns coming together. Must understand how outbound awareness through a variety of communication strategies leads to overall success. Candidate must have knowledge of the internal workings of local and federal governments and how to accurately interpret, and then message out these definitions in a constructive manner.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong command of English language, especially grammar; working knowledge of style books; copy editing; fact checking; interviewing techniques; general knowledge of how publications and media campaigns come together; general knowledge of current events politics, sports, culture; solid writing and proof-reading skills (tests will be administered); computer use for writing, research, and some design; photography / videography; work independently once given an assignment; able to handle multiple assignments quickly; enjoy working with staffs of other departments and with outside professions.
