EMAIL MARKETING SPECIALIST, Resource Development (RD), to collaborate on the execution and shaping of email campaigns that strategically engage, cultivate, solicit, and steward MIT's diverse constituency. Will draw on best practices to build, test, and send HTML email messages and templates; gather and analyze data and prepare reports; manage and refine processes for coordinating email marketing efforts across RD; manage the process for gathering, producing, and vetting content from across MIT for an internally-focused email digest from the Campaign Toolkit; and use content management systems to update RD's web properties.
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing, communications, or related field; three years' related experience; experience with email management systems, e.g., Lyris, Constant Contact, Exact Target, MailChimp, etc.; experience with Mac systems, Photoshop and other Adobe products, HTML, CSS, and CMS; experience creating (strategy, content, and technical) and implementing professional digital marketing campaigns; strong planning, scheduling, and project management skills; ability to set priorities, take initiative, juggle multiple projects, and work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment; tact and good judgment; detail-orientation; experience extracting, manipulating, and vetting large data sets; and experience using large enterprise databases or CRM systems. Experience in digital communications, marketing, or program management; experience in a major capital campaign for a nonprofit; end experience writing content for email and other digital marketing efforts; and professional experience with social media platforms preferred. Editing, proofreading, and line editing skills also preferred; as is the ability to understand an audience, pull content from various sources, integrate content through editing and rewriting, and present results in a web-optimized way.
